![]() Here is a link that will link you to multiple youtube videos that deal with the issue you are experiencing. At the top towards the middle it will say "cpu" when you play your track does the number next to "cpu" skyrocket from say 10 to 80? If so the program is overloading your cpu and there are other programs in the background clogging up your cpu preventing FL Studio's from running smoothly. ![]() I have had this happen to me in the past. Could you maybe upload a audio recording of what's happening, or even better a screencast of specifically what happens? Turning it up will be safer quality-wise but will increase latency as well which isn't good for playing synths and stuff. This is a fairly annoying issue and I've absolutely no clue what to do, it's really pissing me off.Īny of you guys run across this problem too? Or have any fixes? Are you using an audio interface? What audio drivers are you using? ASIO drivers are recommended. That's the only way the crackling stops UNTIL I load up another plugin including effects, even stock plugins or drag out a sample, then it starts again and I have to go through the whole process. I noticed it the other day when I loaded up an instance of Reaktor and any sort of sound played, even triggered samples would begin to crackle. The same happens when I load ANY plugin or drag a sample. Whenever I load up FL Studio, any sound played starts to crackle. Hey guys, just ran into a fairly unusual issue recently. To put 10 ms in context, the delay between pressing a key on a real piano and the hammer hitting the strings is in the order of 80 ms and the time taken for that sound to reach your ears is a further 3 ms, something to ponder.Home Help Search Login Register.Īuthor Topic: FL Studio crackling? Read times. At lower settings than 10 ms, most people don't experience improved 'responsiveness' and the CPU load climbs rapidly. We strongly recommend 10 ms ASIO mode as a minimum setting. Remember, the lower the buffer length setting, the higher the CPU load. If you are happy with 20 or 30 ms then that's great. Welcome to the never ending cycle of PC upgrades! Having the lowest Buffer length setting is not a competition. We don't recommend setting the buffer lower than 10 ms samplesCPU load increases sharply with very low buffer settings. Try the following steps, after each change, if the underrun count stops increasing, try to reduce the Buffer length setting further. Rememberunderruns are only a problem if you notice them and they are distracting you. Similarly, the occasional underrun is not really a problem, but may indicate you are close to the minimum buffer size your PC can sustain with the current settings. ![]() Note that you will almost always see some underruns20 is typicalthese happen at startup. Failing that, up to ms - samples usually acceptable if you are not playing a MIDI controller. Your goal is to get the Buffer length to around 10 ms sampleswith few or no new underruns added to the count. Underrun minimization will require some trial-and-error. If you do hear that sort of thing in an exported audio file, then it is likely a plugin behaving badly, check the plugin settings in that case. It is worth noting that underruns can ONLY occur in real-time playbackthey will not happen while exporting to wave or mp3 file. If the Audio Buffer runs dry, because your CPU or hard-drive can't keep up with the real-time audio stream, then your Soundcard will make rude pop, click or stutter noises. Why does this happen? The Audio Buffer stores the audio data before it's sent to your audio interface. The good news is, CPU and disk usage can usually be lowered considerably if you take the time to make some adjustments to the FL Studio Audio settings. Of course every driver was installed, reinstalled and updated to the latest version. If your CPU or disk usage climbs too high you will hear clicks or pops in the audio buffer underruns. I recorded a clip and I'm attaching that to this post, so you can hear what I'm talking about. So I tried to mess around with ASIO's settings but nothing worked. I thought it was a problem of drivers or firmwares, so I downloaded the Line6 Monkey tool to upgrade software stuff but it was everything up to date. It's a low dirty/crackling sound but it's there and I hate that. ![]() When I record every sound, including clean/distorted/chorus etc, I got a very dirty sound which isn't what I'm hearing from my headphones. I'm having a strange issue with recording to my PC using the POD X3 Live with Asio (both ASIO4ALL and X3 Live ASIO) plugged in directly to it.
